Candle Care

Welcome to our Candle Care guide, where we provide you with essential tips and tricks to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your scented candles. By following these guidelines, you can enhance your candle experience and enjoy the captivating aromas for longer periods of time.

1. Proper Candle Storage

When not in use, it is important to store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Excessive heat can cause the wax to soften and lose its shape, while sunlight can fade the color and fragrance of the candle. By storing your candles correctly, you can preserve their quality and extend their lifespan.

2. Trim the Wick

Before lighting your candle, always trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch. This helps to prevent excessive smoke and soot, as well as ensures a clean and even burn. Trimming the wick also helps to prevent the flame from becoming too large, which can lead to uneven melting and potential safety hazards.

3. Allow for a Large Melt Pool

Our candles are made to burn long and slow. You will notice wax hanging around the edges of the vessel and this is normal. During the first burn, it is important to allow the candle to create a large melt pool. This means that the entire top layer of wax should be almost melted before extinguishing the flame.  By allowing for a large melt pool, you ensure an even burn and maximize the fragrance throw.

4. Burn Time and Extinguishing

For optimal performance, it is recommended to burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. This helps to prevent overheating and extends the overall burn time of the candle. When extinguishing the flame, use a candle snuffer or gently blow it out to avoid any splattering or hot wax. Avoid using water to extinguish the flame, as this can cause the wax to splatter and potentially damage the candle container.

5. Safety Precautions

Always remember to place your candle on a heat-resistant surface and keep it away from flammable materials. Never leave a burning candle unattended and keep it out of reach of children and pets. It is also important to ensure proper ventilation when burning candles, especially in enclosed spaces. By following these safety precautions, you can enjoy your candles with peace of mind.
